Can you get into medical school without organic chemistry?

I am debating between two majors, Ecology/Evolutionary Biology or Molecular/Cellular Biology. Evolutionary biology does not require organic chemistry but it can be taken as an elective. Molecular/Cellular Biology requires organic chemistry and may have me taking two sciences freshman year. So is organic chemistry a must? Also, what are your thoughts on these two majors and will I need Calc II for med school? Also, could I take organic chemistry in the summer? Thanks!

You have to take organic chem for most if not all med schools. I say major in Molecular/Cell Bio. That's because 1) I don't know much about Ecology and Evolutionary Bio and 2) I liked the Molecular and Cell Bio Seminar I took. You will not need Calc II for med school most schools require at most a year in Calc or some other math. If you are good at Calc and can get an A in Calc II then take it otherwise Calc I will suffice at most schools. Check the reqs for some perspective schools.

Major in whatever you want but you have to take organic chemistry.

even music majors have to take organic if they want to go to med school.
