I got in as a direct admit into the Kelley School of Business. My w GPA is just above the 3.8 required for direct admission. However, there is a non-negligible chance that my GPA will drop below 3.8 after the 1st semester of Senior year is over. The 1st semester ends on January 11th. If my GPA drops below 3.8, will they rescind my direct admission? Will a D cause my direct admission to be rescinded? Although it’s HIGHLY unlikely that my final grade in AP Lit will be below a C-, it is still within the realm of possibility. Thanks!
I’m almost positive they won’t rescind your admission to Kelley for falling below a 3.8. I’m not 100% sure, but I’m a senior in Kelley and have been on this board for a long time, and I’ve never heard anyone complain about that. I am guessing quite a few direct admits have their GPA drop below the 3.8 during senior year.
I also don’t think they would rescind it for getting a D, but definitely try as hard as you can to not get a D if there is still time left. Try not to worry about it too much. At this point, just control what you can control and do your best. Good luck with any remaining school, and feel free to ask any other questions about Kelley if you have them!
There is an appeals process for potential incoming applicants to the KSB who do not meet the standard GPA and ACT/SAT cut off scores. Students do become DA’s through this process. My best advice would be for you to contact one of the admission advisors from Kelley and discuss your particular concerns for the best and most accurate reassurance of where you stand. Best of luck to you with your decisions!
