Someone told me that you can get some wrong on the MATH II SAT test and still get an 800. Does anyone know if this is in fact true?

It’s true.

What other SAT Subject Tests have a very liberal curve?

It’s around 5 for Math and like 10-11 for Physics. Chemistry is like 6? Not sure about Chem.

A lot of the SAT II tests have a generous curve. I know the history ones have them too along with some of the sciences and math.

“Can you get some wrong and get an 800?”

Absolutely! That’s one of the best things about some of these subject tests. I think for U.S. History I got about ten wrong and still had a 750;) You should check out the official subject test practice book from collegeboard to get a general idea of how generous the curve is for each test.

Here’s a thread from another year:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-subject-tests-preparation/528166-sat-subject-test-scaled-raw-score-compilation.html

Definitely. On the Math II last year, I did not know how to answer two questions and just left them blank. I still got an 800. Ten percent of all students that take the Math II get perfect scores because the curve is so generous.

i got 2 wrong on the math ii definitely and may have gotten more wrong w/o knowing it

still got a 780 (which is really bad)

if u wanna talk about really bad, I got a 760 on the chem test
granted, the chem test is like 90 questions long but i think i got at least 20 questions wrong lol

ive heard that you can get 10 wrong on the US History and still get a 800 but thats kinda ridiculous

I don’t really agree with antonioray. I was strapped for time on the math II and I didn’t answer like the last three and I got an 800. Basically, for any SAT test, if you don’t know or don’t have enough time, leave some blank. It took me a while to grasp that, but once I did a lot of my scores went up 50 points or more.

it isn’t really fair, but yes, you can get a 800 while missing some questions. College Board wants the average to be 500 all the time (or somewhere close to it.)

^The average score on the Math Level 2 is actually around 650, not 500. The College Board does not adjust scores to ensure that 500 is the average (true on the regular SAT as well).

Typical for math 2 is fewer than 5-6 wrong to get the 800.

yep even after getting a few questions wrong it is possible to score 800.to know how many wrong question are allowed check some good book like barron sat as refrence
