Can you get UCLA and UC Berkeley Regents Scholar invitation at the same time?

I was just wondering about this question because everyone I know either got chosen for UCB's regent scholarship or UCLA's regents scholarship but none I know got both. So is it done where you get either one or the other? (I got UCLA's regents scholarship invitation & that's where I really want to go too but I didn't get UCB's even though I have a 4.0 and think I was fully qualified for it)

I don’t get neither, geez, that is terrible …

Mercy93, my son got invited for both UCLA and UCB.

I was given both scholarships, so its certainly possible.

Granted, this was a number of years ago, so it may not be true now.

Well, you must go to a pretty fantastic school considering that “everyone” got one from either UCLA or Cal. The people at my school are amazing and smart and qualified, yet I’m the only one I’ve heard of that’s been named a Regents’ finalist. So just having a 4.0 doesn’t mean you’re a shoe in for a scholarship… obviously you’re a good student if you got the UCLA one, but different schools will consider it differently.

I know of multiple people that have been invited to both, so it certainly is possible.

very rare, i guess. i met a lot of scholar candidates in ucb rohp (overnight program) and interview. everyone’s resume is super impressive. top of the line. only 1 got invitation for ucla regent’s. everyone’s really confused why. also, some people i know who were candidates for ucla regents who’s resume are equally impressive did not get invited for ucb. very interesting. (i am also wondering as to why i did not get regents invite fr uc davis & uci)
