Oh mbd, intended major was Neuroscience, and pre med second option

You know that WashU doesn’t have a straight neuroscience major, right? It’s incorporated into a variety of majors (bio, PNP, psych…). Also pre-med usually isn’t a major, but a track. Just as an FYI.

I think you stand a decent chance at admission. Your ACT is great, your GPA is decent, and your strength of schedule is impressive. Your extracurriculars are decent enough, as well; WashU likes to see volunteer work, so the fact that you didn’t do summer programs shouldn’t hurt you because you still did something with your summers.

One aspect you don’t discuss is demonstrated interest, which is at least moderately considered at WashU. If you didn’t call, email, go to local info sessions, interview, visit, etc., you may be out of luck. If you showed sufficient interest in WashU, you are probably fine. Again, it’s hard to tell with these selective schools, but those are my two cents.

I did call in, and attend all of the college fairs at toronto, requested information, etc. I was sadly unable to visit due to the distance it was from my current residence of canada (im a pr thats moving in still)

thanks for the response btw

You should be good on demonstrated interest, then. They understand if you can’t visit due to distance or cost or whatever, which is why they go to college fairs and such.
