Hi, I'm changing my essay style to suit the SAT format since I always seem to run out of time while writing essays. I'm used to writing really long, detailed essays but I need to change it so it's short, simple, and concise. I'm aiming for a perfect score in my essay in the SAT exam next month. So I need to write a practice essay with a perfect score and I will use it as my exemplar essay when writing future essays. So this is one I wrote, so can you grade it and give me feedback please? Thanks.

Can success be disastrous?

All men desire success and expect it to offer happiness and satisfaction to their lust. However, for many, success fails to provide these luxuries; ironically, success has the potential to bring destruction to ones life. Blinded by greed and relentless lust for power, countless of figures in both history and fiction have fallen victim to the deception of success and ultimate demise. In history, Adolf Hitler is a prime example of success capability of bringing death and destruction to everyone associated with the belligerents of his Nazi regime. In popular culture, Tony Montana and Walter White suffer from insatiable greed and narcissism hence travel down the path to death and destruction of themselves and those close to them.

Regardless of his evil and hateful set of beliefs, Hitler was a very skilled artist and speaker with large potential as a leader. He envisioned Germany as the superpower of the world and contemplated the massacre of Jews. He achieved the latter objective but establishing Germany as a superpower was proof of his insatiable greed. His megalomania led him to foolishly invaded Poland to instigate WWII and further worsened the situation by betraying the Soviet Union. Due to his proud but greedy and foolish choices, Germany was ultimately defeated in WWII and he eventually committed suicide. Due to his pride and insatiable lust, the empire he believed would have lasted for a thousand years only lasted twelve and his name remains a synonym for evil and the swastika a symbol for evil.

Cult film and masterpiece Scarface (1983) depicts the rise and fall of Tony Montana as he reaches out for his American Dream of becoming a drug lord. His stark tenacity and megalomaniacal ambition drive him to emerging from the slums into becoming a wealthy and powerful drug lord. In the process, he gains everything a man could need; $75million, a mansion, luxury goods, and a beautiful wife. However, he remains unsatisfied of his new life and eventually grows bored; subsequently driving those he loves and trusts out of his life. Due to his carelessness, his relationship with business partner Alex Sosa becomes strained and he is eventually killed, holding onto his pride until the moment of his death. Tony Montana was successful in living the American Dream and cementing his legacy as a ruthless drug lord, but his success failed to offer the happiness he truly needed. He eventually he faced his demise in the cruel way he killed others in his quest for power.

Hailed as one of the greatest TV series of all time, Breaking Bad depicts the MacBethian life of Walter White as he joins the criminal world of narcotics. Initially, Walter begins synthesizing methamphetamine purely for the selfless objective of providing for his family after his cancer kills him. Even after he has achieved this goal, he remains unsatisfied. In fact, he enjoys the ruthless world of crime and continues what he does in order to survive and become the greatest drug kingpin. Despite his altruistic and helpful intentions, his exposure to the criminal world transforms him from a loving, mundane family man into a highly ruthless, egotistical, cold man doing what he does for self-complacency. Even though he was successful as a drug kingpin, his family ultimately crumbled due to his complicity instead of having the idealistic, happy future he prepared for them through his complicity.

Success is an abstract idea that all men desire, but the price it comes with remains oblivious to men. Proved through both pop culture and history, success does not necessarily equate to happiness and satisfaction. In fact, it may lead to an inevitable demise to men after all, once youre at the top, the only direction you can go is downwards.
