Can you help me with this math problem?

Jenna and her dad have to go to a college 325 miles away. Jenna travels 65 miles per hour. Her dad only travels 55 miles per hour. She lets her dad get a half hour head start. At what mile will they meet?
On a completely random note, if you do f(x+3), won't this transform a function to go left 3 horizontally?

55 * 0.5 = 27.5 <-how much dad has travelled due to his head start
Since the dad started 27.5 miles ahead of Jenna, this equation can be written. 65x=55x+27.5
x = # of hours it will take for them to meet. Solve for x and you should get 2.75 hours.
Plug x back in to get the mile they meet at. Answer should be 178.75. Was this a multiple choice question?
Yes the function will go left 3 unites horizontally.

@DaneBrick Thanks! I got the same answer and it wasn’t multiple choice. And thanks for confirming :)

Well it can’t be grid-in (correct grid-in answers can be written using at most four digits/symbols). Unless it was supposed to be rounded to 178 or 179.

@Miter94 This was a question I made up myself lol. When I thought I had the wrong answer, I just had to ask.

Oh, lol
