So when I started looking for colleges, I suppose I was a bit unrealistic in terms of location, mostly. I now realize that my parents probably won't want (let) me go very far away from home (I'm from NJ, I was thinking of schools in TN, SC, etc), so now I basically have to come up with a whole new college list.
I won't list all of my stats but here are the important ones: White Female from NJ. 1st time SAT- 2100 (71R, 68M, 71W). 3.8W very competitive private Catholic school that doesn't rank. 9 Varsity letters (would be 10 if I hadn't gotten injured this yr), captain of 2 sports, year round swimming for 9 yrs 21+ hrs per week. HS swim team county and state champs 2006.

I like warm weather, but the farthest away my parents want me to go is probably VA. If a college is right for me in every other way then I can look beyond the weather, but I really don't want to go to Maine or anywhere that's freezing cold most of the time. Also I'd prefer that the school is near (but not in) a city but I'm finding that most of the types of schools I like are in really rural areas..
I like schools such as Bucknell and Colgate in that they have a lot of athletic, social people. I'm on the quieter side but I love outgoing people and most of my friends are very outgoing. I'd prefer to go to a school where frats don't dominate the social scene but it's not a big deal if they do. Also- the M/F ratio is somewhat important to me, I don't want a 35/65 kind of lopsided ratio of guys to girls (but more guys than girls is fine :) haha)
I don't want a school that is notorious for overloading kids with work, or one that is overly/annoyingly intellectual. I don't want a school full of dumb kids but I don't want a stifling..ly academic atmosphere.

So far these are some of the schools I'm looking at:
W&L
W&M
Colgate (except for the weather... I have to see about that)
Bucknell
Lehigh/Lafayette
Muhlenberg
Catholic (hopefully merit aid?)
Susquehanna (" ")
Wesleyan (legacy.. not so sure about this one)
