Can you mix and match scores?

Hey, I got a 2290 on the new SAT (800 Math, 800 Writing, 690 Critical Reading). But on my old SAT, I got a 1490 (760 Math, 730 Verbal). Which schools or any schools would let me mix and match my scores to get a composite score of 2330 by using my old SAT verbal score in place of my Critical Reading. And if not, do you guys recommend I retake the SAT to improve my Critical Reading? Thanks a lot.

FAKEOUT

Far as I know, you can mix and match

I think it really depends on the school...but most likely, you will be able to for the first couple years.

So are you saying that if I just study for the critical reading section and do well on CR but worse on the other sections than my previous tests (ie total score out of 2400 drop by 50-100 points), it can work to my advantage?

It doesnt sound right

it wouldn't work to your advantage...it just wouldn't hurt you...if you really wanted to impress a college, you would do well in one sitting, but doing well in 2 different sections in 2 different sittings wouldn't be detrimental.

UCs (and other publics) will only take the best scores of one sitting.

It's not that way for all of them though. UNC takes your highest combined I believe.
