Are you waiting to hear for Fall 2010 or ?? The priority decision date has much higher % of acceptances, so I think you may be a stretch. If you are from NJ or NY, your chances are much lower. Unfortunately, your SAT scores are not very competitive; I think admission directly into Clark is highly unlikely. Is your GPA weighted or unweighted? If unweighted, it could compensate for your SAT scores. Sorry to sound doom and gloom…there’s still a chance, but it’s not something I would bank on. You may want to consider going to a state school, and then transferring after you get awesome grades there.

It is unweighted. However, I’m from NJ.
Nevertheless, I understand. I got accepted to my state school with almost a full-ride. (only problem is that it offers a concentration in the major, not the full thing) If I don’t get in, I do plan on enrolling there and then transferring to Maryland.

Edit: Sorry, missed the line about APs/honors!

I think with 6 APs/honors classes, you are 100% in at MD. HS grades are a better predictor of college success than SAT scores, and your HS grades are WELL above what is necessary for admission to MD.

Direct admit to the aerospace program is a bit more dicey due to your low M score. They may want to see how you fare in some college-level math classes before admitting you to such an intensive major. My totally-this-is-just-a-guess-don’t-take-it-seriously-opinion…pssst, you’re in (knock on wood).

Did the priority deadline admission notifications already come out? Did you apply by the priority deadline? (Sorry, I’m not up with the timeline!) Astrophysicsmom is right in that admission gets unusually tough after the priority deadline has past.

I have applied regular. Still, thank you for your encouragement!
And if I do not get into the aerospace program, I can always transfer into it after 65 credits. So, I can try that too!

Oh, I forgot to add that I scored a 700/800 on the U.S. History SAT II Subject Test. Would that help in any way?

Mmm, not sure if they just toss those out or not.

Did you submit your AP scores? How well did you do on those?

Since SAT scores usually are to show that your school wasn’t just easy As, I feel like good AP scores would function pretty similarly to the SAT as a reference point.

Most of the APs are this year, so they don’t know about the grades since I have not taken them yet. I got a 4 on the US History exam. However, I’m not even sure if they asked for AP exam grades on the application.

And I see what you mean. Anyway, it’s only a few more weeks before decisions are released. I guess it’s the best to remain calm and collected until they release the decisions. :)

Bump!!! :)

Bummmp!!! :D
