**oh and I forgot to add that I would like to major in biological/biomedical sciences or chemistry
You have the grades and excellent test scores. You don’t have any significant extracurriculars. Awards in the Science Olympiad and an internship at a Biotech company are things everyone applying to those schools have. You don’t have any significant hooks either (URM, socioeconomic, etc). This summer I would focus on following your passion in the biological sciences and doing some unique volunteer work, research, etc. As of now:
-all UC’s - Acceptance at all but UCB and UCLA
-Washington U in St. Louis - Acceptance
-U of Chicago - Acceptance (they tend to like very high GPAs and test scores)
-Northwestern University - Acceptance
-Brown University - Rejection
Princeton University - Rejection
thanks for your reply, appgodxoxo. yeah, i figured that my ECs were lacking. whats URM, if i may ask? and also, do you think i have a slight chance at ucla?
URM = underrepresented minority. I would agree with @appgodxoxo’s assessment. However, I have a few friends who have been accepted at UCLA and UCB with less impressive stats. I think it will depend on your essays and ECs.
Please chance me back!

UC admissions have been super competitive and unpredictable. Spend time on the essays and on your EC’s and your chances are good for the majority. UCLA/UCB are always difficult. Good luck
okay thank you! also, how do i calculate my uc gpa?
UC GPA calculator: http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Honor points based on UC approved Honors classes, AP/IB classes. You need to check the doorways website to see which classes at your HS are accepted.
@youreallcool From my experience you have a much better chance at UChicago / Northwestern. Albeit the admissions percentage rates for the UCs, which are higher than UChicago, NW, and the Ivies you mentioned, you need to keep in mind much more people are applying with higher stats and better ECs than you to the UCs. Therefore I believe your chances at the UCs are not good.
um I don’t have a chance at any of the UCs? @appgodxoxo
@yourallcool: You have a good chance at most of the UC’s.
Thanks I’m mostly looking at UCSD, how do you think my chances are for it?
You have a decent shot at all, except your lacking ECs. I’d research all and maybe ED your favorite. Your most realistic chances are probably NU, WashU, and maybe U of C. Princeton and Brown maybe but less likely and the last ones idk enough to make a guess.
how are my chances for UCI or UCSD ?
Can only speak for the UC’s:
Friends of mine have gotten into UCLA this year with 3.2 GPA’s in impacted major - but what did they all have in common? Passion in their major. Show it, don’t just talk about it. Anyone could say this or that, but have a portfolio.
No one deserves to go to a certain school, it depends if they want you or not.
Someone else I know got into UCB with a 3.6 GPA, not bad, but below their average 4.19 GPA.
Admissions is completely unpredictable for the UC’s.
Good luck & have fun.
