Essay topics- IB, volunteering at a senior home, conflicts with my parents due to cultural differences
non-competitive public school (The Berkeley admission person said that I would be compared in the context of my environment i.e. my high school which I guess is good for me although at least 3 of my friends got 800s on their subject tests, I'm jealous)

So Cal is my top choice and I really wouldn't be happy if i go anywhere else (maybe except NYU). I know I have average standardized test scores, but hopefully my high gpa would balance it out. So what do u guys think? Thanx in advance.

I'm pretty sure you'll get in. Your grades and extracurriculars are really spectacular although your test scores (AP and SAT's) could improve. I wouldn't expect to not get accepted if I were you.

Chanced you shall.

SATs aren't spectacular but everything else looks pretty good. Chances: 80%, assuming you are in-state.

Note to prospective students: for chance threads PLEASE write if you are in-state or not.

i got in with 1940 SAT's, and i hadn't nearly the AP's and i wasn't an IB scholar (they didn't have it at my schoo). not for sure, but i'd say u got a damn good shot.
