Hi. I just wrote an SAT essay in 25min and there is no one to grade my essay for me at this moment. So, can you mark my essay and score it out of 6 or 12, whatever you prefer. Can you also comment on how I could improved it and what I should do to get a score that is higher than 10?
Here is my essay:
Prompt: " In seeking truth you have to get both sides of a story"
Assignment: Do you agree with Walter Cronkite that it’s necessary to see both sides of an issue in order to discover the truth?
It is imperative to observe both sides of an issue in order to gain the truth. Although the process may be time consuming, people must see both sides of an issue to know the truth; results they receive will be accurate and creditable.
By seeing both sides of an issue, people can gain accurate results. In To Kill a Mocking Bird (underline), people can discover that Tome Robinson did not commit a crime due to Atticus Finch's keen judgments. Although Tom Robinson is found to be guilty of sexual assaults by the end of the trial due to racism against black men, he is proven to be innocent by the presentation of Atticus's proof. Atticus directly gains the proof from Bob Ewell, father of the victim who accuses Tom as an offender, with Bob's consent; he first listens to both men, Tom and Bob. Then he asks both of them to write on a paper to prove that Bob abused his daughter and Tom could not possibly do such misdeed. Atticus asserts that the victim was beaten by a left handed man by scrutinizing the bruises and scars on the victim's face. However, simultaneously, his assertion also indicates that Tom Robinson could not have her; he is a right handed man. By looking at both sides of an issue and discovering erroneous points on one of the speakers' stories based on the descriptions he or she has presented, Atticus successfully proves Tom's innocence to the townspeople.
It is necessary to observe both sides of an issue to gain the truth. Even in the most obvious and seemingly frivolous cases, people must look at both sides of an issue. Since it is not the outlooks of people or the importance of cases that determine the truth, people should always try to be fair and just.
I could only write 3 paragraphs in total, and I had no time to revise my essay; while I was typing it, I realized a number of grammatical errors, but I left them as they were. Thanks.
