I'm thinking of self-studying for AP Psych since I here it's relatively easy. I will not be taking the course- just reading one or two good review books. Is this do-able?

Is reading the Barron's AP Psychology review book alone good enough to get a 4 or 5?

Any personal experience stories (and scores) and tips would be much appreciated! Thank you. :)
BQ: Are there any other 'self-studiable' AP courses?

You’ll need the textbook for AP Psychology. A book like Barron’s will not prepare you alone because the MC is very specific on certain sections, such as Biological Bases of Behavior and Cognition.

The exam is not that rigorous. It’s all about memorization. Also, make sure you know research methods very well!

I passed the exam and took AP Psych. But I really just read the textbook and used a study prep book. So it’s not that much of a challenge.

@ocnative, what for a AP textbook did you use? There are so many out there and i am searching for one that covers most of all that comes up in the exam.

I am also reading Barrons (or studying form it) but i do find that there are a many things that are not as well covered as they should be to make me feel as if i have all the knowledge that i would need. It does over a good structure to review, but that is all. At least that what i think. But as a review book (which it is) it is very good, so if you only want to review i would definitely suggest Barrons.

My son self studied it in 10th grade. He used Myer’s textbook and Barron’s. He also did the FRQs shown on ap central. Scored a 5 without a lot of stress.
