Let’s you are enrolled in a 4 yr Program and have completed freshman year. Can you skip a sophomore year, if you did, I assume you wouldn’t have to pay any tuition for that year, correct and you can continue as usual from next year. Is this correct? What about the same question for a semester? Let’s say you complete a semester and unable to go for a 2nd semester?
If you arrange to take a year or a semester off, you will not owe fees for that year or semester. Just stay on top of things so that you aren’t held responsible for paying for a term that you had intended to be gone.
If you have student loans, they may go into repayment status if you are gone more than a semester. You also may lose FA. My daughter’s merit scholarship is good for 8 consecutive semesters.

Check in with the
- Financial Aid Department to see if she gets to keep all her scholarships
- Honors’s Societies/Programs - some like to keep their cohorts together

Complete all the necessary paperwork to formally take a leave of absence. Don’t just fail to register or you risk having to reapply for admission when you are ready to return.
If you are already registered for the semester, you must withdraw from those courses so you don’t end up owing money for classes you never attended.
If you are receiving any type of financial aid, sit down with your financial aid advisor and make sure you understand how your aid will be affected.
I didn’t mention earlier if this was for a medical condition. I would assume if it is for medical condition then it should be certainly doable if it can be done for other reasons. I’m not sure what supporting documents they would need for medical condition.
