Hmm… I applied RD this year with two subject test scores. I guess we’ll see.
I applied RD with no subject test scores…
It is definitely possible to get accepted without Subject Tests, but Georgetown really frowns on students who don’t submit them (especially for RD applicants), unless they have a very good reason. I called Georgetown Admissions and spoke with an Associate Director who basically said the reason why they are “strongly recommended” and not “required” is really for the benefit of those students who live internationally and may not have easy access to take them, or other extenuating circumstances where taking them is simply not possible. I was told that if students did not take them that it would be a “very good idea to send in an explanation letter of the reason(s) why they are absent from the file.”
I didn’t send subject tests and was accepted EA this fall. I did send both SAT and ACT scores though; however, they were pretty average (2130 and 32). It is definitely possible!
FWIW, my son was admitted EA with no Subject Tests. He planned to take them if he was deferred. He has a 35 ACT.
