I am not eligble to apply for FAFSA, but my parents pay taxes. Do I have to send CSS profile even if I may not be eligble for government financial aid?

CSS profile is not for government financial aid, it is for institutional aid. You would need to check with your school for what is required for you to apply for aid. I am guessing you are international. Most school have different forms for internationals. Though some allow CSS for Canadian applicants. You would really need to check with them.

My parents pay American taxes though so it may be different. I don't have a social security # though.

Yeah I am considered an international applicant for the private colleges I have applied to, but a CA resident for UCs. UCs do not participate in the CSS thing right?

Thanks

How can you be international and still apply to UCs as California resident? It does not compute.

You apparently do not know about the AB540 Affidavit brassring.

In any case, I am a CA resident for tuition purposes if I plan to enroll in a UC. Since my parents pay taxes, I think I am eligible to file CSS profile. But I understand that UCs don't require CSS? Can I still send them to UCs though? I don't qualify for FAFSA though.

im not a CSS pro since i often run into problems myself. but im pretty sure u can't send CSS to UC's because there's actually a list of schools in which u can choose to send, if UC is not in that list( i know for sure they are not ;P), then u cannot send it to UC's.
