I posted this question in the accepted thread, but that was probably the wrong place. Does anyone know what the procedure would be for an admitted student to one college (CNAS) to try to switch to another one (CHASS)?

GoldenWest: This is taken from the UCR Website::::

New students may change their major from that indicated on the application for admission by filing a petition for change of major in the Undergraduate Admissions Office prior to the end of the third week of their first quarter. If, after you arrive at UCR and realize you have chosen the wrong major, dont despair! Just file a “Change of Major Petition” available at the Student Academic Affairs office of the proposed major

Thank you so much Gumbymom; I appreciate the help. My D would need to change the college she is enrolled in, not just the major. Some schools make that more complicated than others. I guess we will have to look into it further if she is looking seriously at UCR.
