so if i am a cc student applying to transfer as a psych b.a. major to UCLA, will I be able to switch into psych b.s after transfer? or anything other b.s. if i change my mind?
UCLA doesn’t offer a BS in psychology.
Only some majors offer both a BA and a BS, and it is usually not too difficult to switch between the two since the majority of classes required are the same. However, the major you apply to transfer with is largely the major you will be stuck with. For example, if you apply as a psych major, you cannot change your mind and become let’s say a computer science major.
sorry for the error. What if i got accepted as a psychBA major, and decided that i wanted to pursue a degree in biology. Would I be able to change from psych BA to biology BS?
Biology is considered a Highly selective major meaning the demand for this major significantly exceeds the space available. But there are multiple pathways to achieving your goals but no guarantees.
You must discuss changing majors with a counselor once you arrive at UCLA. In most cases, the decision to change your major is dependent on a variety of factors, such as whether you have taken the preparatory courses needed for that field of study and whether that department has room available for an additional student. You will have the opportunity to discuss your situation with a counselor at New Student Orientation. You can also contact the department you wish to transfer to directly.
i have taken many bio pre-reqs but not all of them. So if i did get admitted as a psych BA major, will that help my case in changing my major from psych BA to biology BS?
Yes, it can help your chances but it will depend upon if there is space available. As stated above, contact the department directly.

No. Some majors at UCLA do not allow you to change into them as a transfer student accepted as a different major
Life science majors are required to complete extensive preparatory courses prior to transfer, therefore, you must be admitted directly into a life science major; you will not be able to change from a non-life science major into a life science major after admission to UCLA.

Your previous posts indicate several changes in your major to accommodate trying to get into UCLA (Cognitive Science, Biology, Psychology).
What’s the goal??? Just to get into UCLA?
UCLA is competitive. There are no guarantees. Check the latest threads on CCC students who were rejected and waitlisted. There were so many applicants. You need to have back ups.
Can’t pinpoint where I said I’d apply as a psych major, it was a hypothetical question.
