Can you take AP Biology before having any chemistry course?

Can you take AP Biology before having any chemistry course? Can anyone provides the pro and con? Thanks.

Sure you can. I am a sophmore taking AP Biology and Chemistry at the same time. The first thing that you should learn in AP Biology is biochemistry. Basically, they teach you a little about solvents, solute, atoms, isotopes, etc. This is just about all the chemistry you need for AP Biology. Maybe if you had taken Chemistry before hand, you would have a slight advantage. Don't worry. I am doing very well in the class w/o taking Chemistry before AP Biology. I was also wondering the same thing before I took it. AP Biology is a great class and you'll really enjoy it. Good luck!

Yeah i took ap bio and chem my soph. year simultaneously.

yeah bio is ridiculously easy, the chem that you do learn in it is really easy, and at least my teacher didnt assume we knew it so she told us how it worked--not like it even came close to showing up on the exam

easiest ap ever.

lot's of people take ap bio before they take chem

killaerone, are you planing to take the AP Biology exame this year? What is the grade for AP Biology you are getting so far? I think it's good idea to take AP Biology and Chemistry at same time as you have done.

my friend (sophomore) took AP Bio before chem, and she says it's absolutely fine.

All the chem you need is in the bio textbook :)

wzzzz- Yeah, I'm taking the AP exam in May. I'm getting my report card tommorrow morning, but I am getting a 98/ most likely 99 in the class. Although there is a lot of information, it is very easy and it is especially easy if you love biology, as I do.
