Hello everyone,

I am just wondering if you are allowed to take S/NP courses your Spring quarter before transferring. I haven't taken any S/NP classes yet so far that are UC transferable courses, and I was considering taking one this quarter to ease the stress of maintaining a 3.0 the last quarter. Does anyone know anything about this? And how many S/NP are we allowed to take in one quarter? Thanks :) I'm only taking 3 classes this quarter since they're the last three GEs if that helps

I’m going to assume S/NP is P/NP or CR/NC. The short answer is yes. You can only take non-major courses and up to 14 (semester) UC-transferable units worth of P/NP.

Yeah, I meant P/NP but I guess my school refers to S/NP. Say if you are taking 3 classes and you do P/NP for 2 of those classes, would that look really bad?

No, as long as they are not for your major and as long as don’t exceed 14 semester units then you are fine.

Hmm, I just heard it looks bad since you’re only getting a grade in 1 class…but I am thinking about it since I have been saving up my P/NP units and these are the last of my GEs. I may use it for one class, still deciding though :)
