Can anyone let me know whether you can take the PSAT more than once, and if this is advisable? Is there a rule about what grade you must be in? If you took it in Fall of Sophomore year, could you take it again Fall of Junior year? How does this relate to National Merit Scholars?

I believe you can only take it once.

Anyone else?

Yes to freshman, sophmore, and junior testing, but only “testing in the third year of a traditional four year” schooling (or something like that) counts for NMSQT.

Google NMSQT

^ Shrinkrap is correct.

I took the PSAT 3 times, grades 9-11. 173, 202, 232 in consecutive order.

^ congratulations…

My school actually has it so that a lot of kids take it twice. It’s made mandatory for sophomores (school pays for it), and kids that are serious about it or maybe want to go for National Merit take it again as juniors, this time paying for it themselves.

Yup…I’ll end up taking it three times: freshman, sophomore, junior years. Much fun.

Can you take it twice in Junior year at two different locations?

No. taking it in 2 different locations is definitely illegal. You can only take it once per year.
