Can you transfer into a preproffessional program? Ba/MD's?

I had a bad highschool gpa ( 2.9 UW)
But right now I have a 4.0.
so lets say I actually get that 4.0, are there any ba/md programs you can transfer too?

and does anyone know schools that give transfer students merit aid

I don’t know/think so. Look up they programs. They are quite competitive right out of high school. DO well in undergrad, save $$$, and you can get into medical school.

Merit aid for transfers is very limited. State schools have merit aid for community college transfers with VERY high GPAs (like your 4.0).

the bs/md programs are more selective than HYPM combined. Less than 5% of the applicant can get it, on top of it, you are looking for Merit? Save your traveling cost and do the best of your program and try it in Medical school level. You may aware, that BS/MD programs require on campus interview at their time schedule and many of the publics take maybe 2 oos each freshman year. Transfers? Fat chance.

I also doubt that any combined programs take transfers, but ask on the Multiple Degree Programs subforum for people more familiar with them.

For the few and far between merit scholarships for transfers, see the link in this sticky:

If you keep up your 4.0, you may be able to apply for early admission to medical school. Some will admit students who have not completed a bachelor’s degree.

early admission to med school? can you expand on that?

bump10char

Beyond multiple degree programs, I have not heard of ‘early admission’ to med school, you might want to ask on the PreMed Topics subforum as there are many experienced posters there.

^ there are early admission programs at several medical schools, but similar to the combined programs, they want your HS records and rely heavily on those because you are being accepted as a soph in college.
