Can you transfer into Harvard as a junior?

Or are only sophomores eligible?

See: [Harvard College Admissions § Applying: Transfer Program](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/transfer/eligibility.html)

“Students who have completed more than two years of college study with transferable credit, and those who have earned a bachelor’s degree, are not eligible to transfer to Harvard College. Students may not choose to relinquish academic credits, or a degree, in order to apply for transfer admission.”

Two years at the time of applying, or at the end of that school year?

therage:

“Students who have completed more than two years of college study with transferable credit, and those who have earned a bachelor’s degree, are not eligible to transfer to Harvard College.”

There’s no distinction. If any time before matriculate as a H transfer student, you achieve the 2 yrs of credits, you’re ineligible.

Look. This is simple. Transfer students either enter with sophomore status, or junior status. You can submit an application for transfer during either your freshman year or sophomore year, and if successful, you’d enter as a sophomore or a junior, respectively. It’s not rocket science. If you’ve already completed your sophomore year, unless you’re planning to take a year off and bet on the off chance of getting in as a transfer student (I don’t recommend this course of action), then it’s too late to transfer to Harvard, or for that matter, most places under normal circumstances.

They only accept 1% of their applicants regardless.

I have been away from the boards for a very long time…

Can I get a little snarky? This is not meant to harsh on the OP, but this is a prime example… Some of the questions on the forum are very, very basic questions that can be answered with literally 5 seconds of googling or checking out the college website. As someone else said, this is NOT rocket science. Frankly, and not to be rude, if you do not have the basic skills of doing elementary research to figure out the answers to trivial questions, how the heck do you think you will do at a place like Harvard, where the vast majority of students are super-competitive and independent?

I was a student at Harvard at the dawn of the internet age (1989-1993)… back then, there was no world-wide-web really… we had to actually use, gasp books gasp to find things out. If you didn’t have the right book, you just couldn’t get the answer… now with the internet, there really is no excuse.

^ Don’t be too harsh on him. If he applies he will lower Harvard’s transfer acceptance rate for the school’s benefit. :P

^ melody: I assume you are a harvard student to talk like that  Good luck!

^lol…

10char

omg… I’m just kidding dude. Hope you didn’t get offended. :)

^ wow. I was actually very offended by that statement.
