Can you transfer out of Exploratory Studies?

Let’s say it takes you all of 6 weeks to realize that you know what you’d like to study. Can you transfer for the following spring semester or are you locked in the program for a predetermined period?

Unfortunately, no. But it’s not because of exploratory studies - you need 12 credits at State to file for the change. However, you can generally sign up for the classes in your desired major. A few exception apply such as you can’t sign up for E101 in the college of engineering, unless you are in engineering.

Thanks. Some colleges don’t make you choose a major until Sophomore year so it doesn’t really matter what you go in as. It seems like your initial selection at NCSU is somewhat more important.
