great standardized test scores make up for lackluster but not terrible ecs?

In short, no. Scores come from a Saturday morning, while ECs show a long term commitment to a single group. Adcoms would rather see someone spending their time in clubs and such than studying for the SATs.

Depends, where are you applying? And what do you define as "lackluster"?

lol, i have like 2 ECs and i have a 4.0 with great test scores..hopefully i will get into somehwere nice..too bad i never realized what people were supposed to do in order to get into great schools. All i heard was straight As you have your pick anywhere you want...

Uhhhh... nope. I mus say it's funny that you've posted 793 times and yet still are uncertain about this kind of thing. But, I am pretty sure, in fact, that colleges value high test scores more than they say they do. However, some EC achievement is usually a must for a top school.

well lackluster is my situation (i think. i mean, ive been told otherwise but compared to u guys, it's not that impressive. it's hard when school ends at 530 twice a wekk and does not offer any ec's (except bible contest which im not good at)). and fhimas, im pretty aware, i was just kinda hopeful; furthermore, some people say things like "well i you do better on your test scores maybe you'll be able to allow that part of your app to shine"

fhimas....I joined this forum in January so basically in the middle of my Junior year, I was talking about my life "before CC" (B.C.)

[Preachy voice] Don't * try* to be cool, let your light inside shine for all to see. [sigh] [rainbow appears] [deer, rabbits, and squirrels run across landscape] [birds chirp].

fhimas, where did THAT come from?

Hehe - I dunno. I just saw your sn. [awkward laugh]

hahahahaaa...hilarious..
