I have posted this in the summer program forum, but thought that some inside form parents might be helpful too :)
DS is interested in attending this program. How difficult is it to get acceptance? How intense is the program? How does it compare with AwesomeMath and MathPath?

MathCamp is not "intense," but it allows deep involvement in the classes that the student takes if that is what the student likes. It is not a highly regimented camp. AwesomeMath would definitely be more intense. focused mostly on competition problems. MathCamp is more in the manner of MathPath, in featuring topics that have nothing to do with math contests, but less tightly controlled as to student behavior.

The application quiz does screen out some applicants. Working steadily and showing thought process would be the main way to do well. Think about the problems long enough to have flashes of insight.

Good luck making plans for the summer.
