Hands down, American students have the upper hand when it comes to this highly selective application process of BS.

As I have mentioned before in CC: despite the extreme similarities in Canada and the US, Canadian students in US BS only take up a mere 2%. That number is sometimes lower than other countries far, far away. e.g. China, Korea... Weird, eh? Canada is, in my opinion, underrepresented in US BS.

So who do you think have a upper hand in this BS application process if comparing Canada and the rest of the world(excluding US)?

FYI, we don't notice our Canadian accents. (I just discovered recently we do have an accent -.-||) So the next time you dis us about it, just know that we don't say WE DON'T HAVE AN ACCENT because we are in denial or anything like that.

some schools consider canada domestic partners with the US, so at those schools, it’s equal (supposedly). the vast majority of them don’t, though
i think canada > china/korea, but ivory coast/tanzania > canada.
and US >>> canada (at non-domestic partner schools)

i don’t think canadians are at a MAJOR disadvantage, like china/korea.

then again, i don’t really know anything, i’m not an AO – this is pure speculation :)

Americans always think Canadians play hockey as soon as they know how to walk. Canadian standard is much higher than American. You’re probably good but dont know it.

^ I’m a Chinese born Canadian too!
Just fyi flash9k, schools regard your geographic location as where you reside. So for you, it would be China instead of Canada. flash9k, you have no idea how much we have in common!

@ DiveAlive and SuperMarioBros
Yes we do. Wikipedia it. You might not believe Wikipedia but then if you talk and you realize you actually do have an accent. It’s funny but true…

I don’t play hockey. But I covered it up in my application because I ski, snowboard, and skate. POUTINE <3

Toronto is good. Vancouver is way better, too Asian to represent IMHO lol. We got whistler blackcomb though, that alone trumps whatever Toronto has to offer.
