anyone going to canada?

I'm going to University of Prince Edward Island (Atlantic Canada).

wat state is it in?
i might go 2 acadia or smu both r in nova scotia

It's in the province of Prince Edward (the smallest province of Canada). It's between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Acadia and SMU are both very good schools.

where would u rank them? as in would they find a place in the top 10?

If I remember correctly both Acadia and SMU are top ten 'primarily undergraduate universities' (the MacLeans ranking).

Regarding education in Canada vs education in U.S.A, my personal opinion is that universities such as Mt.Alison, Acadia, Saint Marry, St. Francis Xavier University are at least on par with Top 25 U.S News ranked liberal arts colleges. Lack of recognition is the only drawback (besides climate :-) )

i may be going to waterloo

hey everyone- i wanted to share a thread to other canadian university forum, but they mostly concentrate on bigger schools, especially in the ontario area, so i guess you wouldn't really be interested! if anyone is though, i would be glad to share some of my googling finds

forums.studentawards.com

that's actually not all darling

so waterloo is not big enough in Ontario ?

well no, not compared to york, u of t, and western- some of the most talked about schools on the forum you mentioned. (queens doesn't count- there is no comparison for the queen's hype)

.... well if you are talking abt student awards then waterloo lags in the number of threads i guess heh

and pleaase dont judge the school by the "hype"

um i'm in mcgill haha... just got a member to reply to some stuff on the admissions and etc part on the mcgill board

pimpcess..what other sites/ good forums have you found. i'd be grateful if you can share that with us. thanks.

i dont think we deserve her information buddy becse she caters to just popularity.

Dont worry nomad, Waterloo is one the best schools in Canada ;)

heh I know hello, i find this person's ignorance amusing :)

Look here- I was just anticipating nomad's response to the way I perceive the studentawards forum. Truly, it's not my favorite source of authority. Seriously, I would never go to queens, hype or no hype. I was just saying that if you were looking for information of Canadian universities, only try studentawards if you're looking at big Ontario schools. Dont be so quick to judge people. Other places Ive found- there are quite a few livejournal communities on Canadian universities- http://www.livejournal.com/community/canadau
That a starting point
Its been good for me since I will be going to mcgill and there's already 3 communities Ive found (one general, one class of '08 and one class of '09) that are particularly salient to the questions I have and its really nice to meet a least some of the people who will be in your giant classes next year. Also try http://www.canada-city.ca/canadian-universities -With this though, you have to be REALLY careful. Lots of goofs just trying to blast other peoples university. Let me know if any of this serves you well. But in general, most Canadian universities other than those Ive already mentioned dont get too much forum coverage and thats JUST my observation. (okay now you can blast me for being so naïve)
