Canadian colleges?

I'm an international (Asian, to be precise) rising senior intending to apply to some top Canadian colleges next year (McGill, Toronto...).

Here's a brief look at my profile:
GPA: 89/100 (not really high in my school - one of the top in my country)
SAT: 2240 (CR 680, W + M 780)
TOEFL: just taken, expecting 100+
ECs: participated / leader in a few (4-5) projects, MUN conferences (unofficial - students organized), some volunteering
No special awards though

And here are my questions:
1. Do I have any chance with these top colleges? Can I get any kind of entrance / major scholarships?
2. Should I take the SAT II? I heard Canadian colleges emphasize grades and tests, and since my GPA isn't stellar Idk if good SAT II would help, especially since I need some kind of financial aid to be able to attend.

I know that few people here on CC have ever been in my situation, but I would appreciate any help and advice. Thanks!

Your grades should give you a pretty good shot at both universities, your strong SAt score should maybe make up for a good but not spectacular gpa.

UofT and McGill dont care about ECs just grades and SATs. Takings some SATIIs would be a good idea.

Here are the minimum admissions standards for McGill for American schools. If your Asian high school is equally rigorous as American schools then the requirements for you should be the same:

[Admissions Standards - U.S. High School | Applying to Undergraduate Studies - McGill University](http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/standards/unitedstates)

UofT doesn’t list admission requiremnts requirements with quite as much detail but:http://www.artsci.utoronto.ca/futurestudents/internationalstudents/admissions

Both these schools are not huge financial aid givers, especially to international students, since their primary purpose is to educate the students of Montreal and Toronto respectively (they are provincial flagships). However it could be possible for you to get both merit based aid and need based aid. There are also independent foundations in Canada that give out scholarships, so you might want to first of all contact both these schools and ask them what aid you would be eligible for and secondly look up independent scholarships in Canada.

While UofT and McGill are both considerably less expensive than paying full price at most US universities, I think merit aid would be much harder to come by at either place.

NamelessStatistic rightly points out that Ecs are not considered at all. My daughter looked into both UBC and UofT, and at least for US students, the acceptance criteria were GPA for grades 10-12, SATs/ACTs, and SAT IIs.

Good luck.

Thank you both, it is really really helpful!
