<p>Hi, I am from Canada and want to go into engineering, not 100% sure which field, mechanical probably. I am going to apply to several U of Waterloo Engineering Programs and U of Toronto's Engineering Sciences program. I was wondering how these programs compare with top American programs at universities such as Cornell, Stanford, MIT, Caltech, Princeton. Is there a large difference? Personally, I think I have a much better chance at the Canadian schools than at the American ones expecially since I am an intl applicant, and I have no extracurricular activies. Thanks</p>

<p>I have two friends that got into both UofT and Waterloo for engineering and they both told me that they thought Waterloo was better (one is attending Waterloo the other chose not to go to canada). They are very good programs but I don't think they are in par with MIT, Caltech and Stanford in engineering.</p>
