Generally, do Canadian Internationals have a less likely chance of getting accepted?

And what is the financial aid like for Canadians? My family income is about 85,000 per year and I have two younger sisters who will be attending college 3 and 4 years after me.

Since I do not have a social security number, and I cannot fill out FAFSA, which forms do Canadians typically use for finaid?

Ok, I just checked on their website: they are need-blind for Canadians and Mexicans as well as domestic applicants; need-sensitive for all other internationals.

“Columbia meets 100% of the demonstrated financial need for ALL students, including foreign students. And we continue to meet 100% of your demonstrated financial need for all four years of study.”

…Does this mean that I would get the same amount as a domestic with my general financial background? As in, if I used the collegeboard’s EFC calculator, that is about the same amount as my family would have to contribute? (Even though I am Canadian)

Columbia is need-blind, and meets all need for Mexicans, Canadians, and Americans. so yes
Columbia also has the necessary form on its site.

generally, I would say, yes, internationals always have a slightly lower chance of getting accepted. however, I don’t think the difference is too apparent. my school got 3 into Columbia this year (including me! :D)
