Canadian marks and US GPA? (High school)

Hey guys, I have a question concerning the US GPA system. I am a freshman living in Canada and I am moving to USA in Grade 10. My current school is considered to be very competitive in my province (Ontario) and my teachers are not lenient towards marks. I have an average of around 87-89 which is within the top 10%. My marks according to foreigncredits.com equals a perfect 4.0 in USA as a Canadian A is 80+ but a 87-89 is a B+ in USA. What is your opinion, what should I do and what should I say to my guidance counsellor in USA?

Your transcript should show the median grade in each course. You could have your current Ontario guidance counsellor enter your rank onto your transcript.

Because of the differences in the grading systems, I would assume that they would take your letter grade/gpa, therefore you would have a 4.0. Talk it over with your counselor and make sure that everything works out in your benefit.

You should also be able to send your transcript and school profile from your freshman year HS in Canada to colleges as well.
