Canadian universities application question..

Well, I'm about to apply through the OUAC to several universities in Ontario (U of Waterloo, Toronto, Western Ontario...)

From what I know you're allowed to choose a maximum of 3 majors for each universities. What I'm aiming for is Engineering (Toronto I'll be applying to Track One, Waterloo maybe Industrial...)

Anyways, my question is; suppose I apply for Track One Engineering at Toronto as my first choice, but then I have 2 choices left. Will picking completely irrelevant majors as my second and third choice affect my chances of getting in (for being "indecisive", perhaps)?

Suppose I apply to:
1. Track One Engineering
2. Business Administration
3. Psychology

Would it be better to just apply to Engineering alone, so it looks like I know what I'm aiming for? Do universities take that sort of factor into consideration when judging applications? (I do, I would just rather have some back up choices which happened to be my second and third.)

On OUAC, for the basic fee you can apply to 3 programs in total (could be 3 programs at one university, or 1 program at 3 different universities, etc.). If you want to apply to more than 3, it will cost an additional fee per application ($38 each).

No, you’re other program choices don’t affect your first choice chances. Everyone recognizes that applicants want to keep their options open.
