Canadian vs American Universities for International Student

<p>Hi all. Not sure if this is the place to be posting this but here goes,</p>

<p>I am an international student from the UK and I go to NYU. A friend of mine is going to university in Canada and has asked me for help/information on things to expect, prepare for, etc. But I'm not sure exactly what to tell her because I don't know if things are the same or different in the US and Canada.</p>

<p>What exactly are the similarities and differences between universities in Canada and in the US, particularly for an international student, and particularly things like student life, requirements, etc? (rather than information about quality, price, etc which I already found when I searched this topic)</p>
