Canadians!

do you mind posting the stats for us canadians? ;)

hey guys, im a canadian living in America on a visa, which means that I would not recieve financial aid from American universities and might have to go to a Canadian one. I really like Mcgill University, but what other universities have good finance/economics programs?

My stats? Not awfully impressive for someone who got into Chicago and Penn...

School type: Private HS (grades 7-11), public CEGEP (Quebec post-secondary, pre-university studies...basically grades 12-13)
GPA: 88.5% cumulative unweighted, strong upward trend.
Courseload: Basically the toughest that my schedule could allow.
Rank: Top 6% in school, 9 of 76 in honours program
SAT I: 2270 (800 CR, 760 M, 710 W)
SAT IIs: 770 Math 2, 760 Lit, 760 French
ECs: A few, solid ECs--newspaper editor, lit journal editor, garage band, hockey coach, band night organizer...not much else.
Recs: Fantastic...really emphasized my personal qualities as a complement to my academic success.
Essays: I felt they were pretty good...the shorter essays were rushed though.
Ethnicity: White
No legacy status, although Chicago admitted me last year, but I chose not to enroll and instead to finish CEGEP.

Congrats on the acceptances jpps! I'm a little more confident about my average now; I thought I'd have no chance without a high or mid 90's average.

hey everyone... sorry to crash the party late...but another Canadian here!
BlissfulAngst, we rep da 6-oh-fo' !

good luck everyone !
GO CANUCKS GO !
BOO SEAHAWKS !

Heh. I'm late too I guess.
Rejected EA from Yale
2290/800/800/790/94.3-valedictorian/a few solid EC's like lab assistant at SFU, Jazz Band, Church service, leadership group leader, provincial rugby, etc.
Yale app was my first one, and my presentation of it sucked... not that I did a stellar job on the other ones...
Hopefully better luck on RD round.

lol I'm even more late, but then again I dont visit the international bord often. just here to say hi. neways I'm a columbia EDer from vancouver BC, nice to meet you all and GL to all canadian RD applicants. GO canada.

Well, I'm applying to MIT and Caltech, I don't know if I really have a chance at either of them...
my scores are SAT I 2250 (790 M, 730 W, 730 CR), 800 Math IIC, 750 Chem, 750 Bio-M.. gpa 95.3 in AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Phys B, AP Calc BC, History 12, English 12... i also redid the SAT I in november but haven't found out my scores yet cause the college board is stupid (i'm supposed to get them this week) and I think I got higher on that test than the one I wrote down above
my biggest EC is air cadets/flying, i have my glider and private pilot licences, i also play/referee hockey, tutor, and do tech stuff for my school's musical theatre

its not bad scot...!
good luck. prehaps you can improve ur ec's a bit

well cadets takes up about 15 hrs/week, and i made it look better on the app lol... but thanks for the help i'll think about it

hey everyone, I'm a new Canadian on the boards here, and I have a question about SAT I. If I get a good score on it, say above 2200, and I want to mention it on my application to a university in Ontario-ex.UofT or Queen's, do I need to send them a copy of the actual SAT results or not? Thanks in advance.

i have no idea about sending them to the university

but i know some universities like waterloo, ask about it in their supplementary form

I'm Canadian and got ED to Tufts University. I'm psyched!
