1st time I took the math SAT 2 was about a year ago, didn't study, got a 690.

I studied hard, took CB practice tests and got 2 800's

I took the real thing on Saturday and I figured my raw score to be 43. I don't think I missed any more, but there's still a chance that I'm not taking a few into account.

Should I cancel and retake, or just wait and see my score. If I end up getting a 770,780,or a 790, should I just stick with it?

I'm appling to top tier schools. Thanks.

And if I get below a 770, which is unlikely, should I retake? ._.

I took the test this Saturday as well. I omitted 7 and felt pretty confident about the rest, so I’m in the same boat as you. Don’t cancel the scores. Only some colleges will take January scores, and colleges aren’t going to put extreme weight on the difference between a 770 and an 800 on a Subject Test.

^I’m a junior so its ok. I just feel pretty badly about how I performed. I mean it sucks to get a 800 on the practice ones and then… well lower than on the real thing.

I think I won’t cancel though… eh

There’s no sense cancelling a score that high, nor is there any sense retaking it. There’s not much difference between a 770 and an 800 in the grand scheme of things, as that doesn’t do a very good job differentiating between similarly qualified applicants as academics and scores go.
