I just got back from Level II Math Subject test, and I did awful. I skipped 13/50 quesitons. I'm pretty much freaking out.

I looked at the requirements for all my schools, and none of them require that I take that test, I was only taking it to increase my chances of getting in.
The schools I'm applying to are: UChicago, Northwestern, BostonU, Vanderbilt. Northwestern recommends you take 3 tests, but I already took 2.

My question is, if I did badly on this test (500ish, probably), is it going to hurt my admissions decision? Is it worth cancelling?

On the regular SAT I got 2240 (800 reading, 690 Math, 750 writing), and I got 660 on Biology Subject Test, 740 on US History. I have a 4.68 GPA, and I'm 6th in my class of 115.

Some please help. All my college dreams have just been crushed.

Your college dreams have not been crushed. Scoring bad on a Subject Test will definitely not help you but it's not going to totally kill your application. If, when your registered, you sent the scores already, it's up to you whether to cancel or not. If you haven't arranged for the scores to be sent, then you could try sending them after you find out your score...sorry if I can't help

I hadn't sent my SAT scores to colleges yet, I was going to send them with this test. So if I delete schools to send scores to and then send them after, they're going to get my Subject test score. I have to send them my cancellation request my Wednesday.

Although...if I paid to send out my scores today, would they recieve my scores as they are now or would they receive my scores + my math score? but then, if there was a giant curve and I did ok on the Math, I'd be paying a total of $80 to send SAT scores. Not cool.

You realize skipping 13/50 isn't that bad. My brother thought he f-ed up his really bad too cause he skipped 12/50 and ended up with a decent 700 on Math IIc, which wouldn't "ruin" his chances anywhere

I have a friend who left 13 blank, got a bunch wrong, and got a 670.
If you feel pretty good about the questions you did answer, I wouldn't cancel. Math II has a huge curve. Good luck

I really really hope you're right...maybe I won't cancel. Originally I was hoping for at least a 700, since I got a 690 on regular math, but pretty much anything in the 600 range I'll be ok with.

ok. i need advice. please. i skipped 22 questions. i'm looking at a net score of 25-28. ouch. really, really ouch. i know. reading you guys complain about skipping 3-5 questions makes my stomach sink/cringe. i'm only a junior so i can re-take the test right? i studied my heart out for the bio (and felt fine/relieved about it), and i think it would kill me if i had to cancel my scores. i knew that the math 2 had a generous curve, so i didn't focus on it very much (needless to say). would colleges look at my bad math score if i re-took it? i'm just worried that this bad test will haunt me forever/be a major skeleton in my closet. what kind of score am i looking at for my math? 500? 600? HELP

I have no idea what kind of score you're looking at, but don't worry. You're a junior. You can retake it. If you do much better the second time, colleges are going to realize you're competent, and maybe you were just poorly prepared the first time.

For some of us, however, this was our last chance to take this test. So don't boo hoo to me. Although I do cringe at the "oooh I skipped 3 questions!" people, too.

ermm well...perhaps more realistic, i skipped round 10 last time, guessed 8-10, wasnt sure on another 5 but narrowed down 2-3 choices. And came away with 600 O.o...but im hoping that a secretary sorts out our top 2 scores instead of the actual people looking at it =P

Yeah, I don't think I'm going to cancel. Maybe it's silly, but I keep hearing from people about how they or their brother or cousin didn't answer a single question and got an 800.

I exaggerate, but you get my point. I'll probably regret it...but I'm gonna take a chance and hope I didn't flunk.
