Canceling AP scores a good idea?

So I'm eligible to apply to top tier colleges in the US
but i got a 2 on an ap exam due to having a poor teacher
and i didnt spend that much time on it because i had more important aps and i was
a bit lazy

do u think its a idea to cancel the scores
or just tell colleges the true?
btws: im applying to uPenn early decision

What AP exam was it?

edit: Btw, everyone is ELIGIBLE to apply to “top tier colleges.”

aren’t AP scores self-declared?

I know I sent mine to UNC already, and they’ve received it. There’s no use canceling it if you didn’t send it to a school already…

well ill ask u guys to chance me some day
but im top 2% of my class of over 500 kids and i have plenty of extracurricular awards (ie 1st place at national debate conference and 1st in state piano competition)
and it was ap computer science A
and i havent sent it to any colleges yet

what are you talking about?

“but i got a 2 on an ap exam due to having a poor teacher”

This may be true, but don’t ever mention it anywhere on a college app; it can be cause for instant rejection (perceived as blaming others for your own shortcomings).

^ Second what vossron said. You got a 2 on that exam due to lack of preparation. Preparing you for the exam was a joint responsibility. If you blame the teacher, be prepared to be deemed irresponsible and possibly whiny.

As to your question – report the score. Colleges typically don’t consider AP scores for admission (only for placement), so your 2 won’t hurt you. On the other hand, being perceived as having “lied by omission” could hurt you.
