So I registered to take the SAT this saturday but I feel like I won’t do well so I decided that I want to cancel my registration. How should I cancel? Should I call CollegeBoard or can I just not show up on test day? In addition, if I cancel a SAT score, will colleges see that I canceled, or in other words, does it go on my record?
You can contact CB in advance and cancel or just not show up, which automatically results in cancelation (if you had contacted CB by five days before the test, you could have gotten a partial refund but you are now too late for that). Regardless of how you cancel, CB will provide nothing to any college about the test.
Remember that you can take the test and then cancel your scores if you feel badly afterwards. If you decide to take the test tomorrow and then want to cancel scores so they don’t calculate a score and it’s as if you never took it, just ask the proctor for a “cancel SAT score” form or fill out one online and mail it to CB by next Thursday.
