Cancelled

So I asked my high school to send my transcript on July 7th and today I just found out I've been canceled because UCR never received it. I called my high school and they said they sent it so I asked them to fax it over with a note explaining it was out of my control. I called UCR but i guess they dont have operators on the weekends and my orientation is Monday or was Monday so I'm not quite sure what to do right now.

same here. i’m freaking out because i sent mine the same day. ugh…

I called my high school and had my counselor fax it over with a note explaining everything and she said she did and talked to ucr and that everything was fine. But I really won’t feel better until I have my ucr page back. You should do the same!

We didn’t find out last week. I found out today. I thought they just hadn’t updated that they had received my transcript. I was planning on doing that Monday if I couldn’t fix it now.

same thing happened to me. i barely checked my email today and it said my admission has been cancelled and i couldn’t help but just BAALL MY EYES OUT all day. it just really broke me. i was *ed off too because my high school was accountable for this and im getting punished for it. Today is sunday so no one’s picking up at my highschool OR ucr so i have to wait til tomorrow. I’m scared *less. i’ve already had orientation three weeks ago…signedup for all my classes and everything. i was literally GOOD TO GO. i guess not. DANGIT. im

@kroopside: You can always appeal by sending an email to admit@ucr.edu. Include your Name, SID and date of birth and the reason why you feel you should be granted an extensions. As with all other appeals, it has to be a very justifiable and provable reason. So I would give it a try if your admission was cancelled. keep hoping!

@robotkat that’s great news! :smiley:
@kroopsicle i already finished my orientation as well. i feel the same way x[

i already emailed ucr admissions, my high school registrar, and my counselor. i got a autoreply for my counselor though, that she’s out until the 18th. oh well… i’m still going to my high school first thing tomorrow morning to ask them to fax a transcript, talk to ucr, and explain the situation. i hope things go just as well as they did for robotkat!

So I went to my high school today and had my registrar prepare a final highschool transcript for me again. I personally drove to UCR since I live 45 minutes away, and talked to a lady in the admissions office. They DID readmit me, I DID get my classes back which I had signed up for during orientation, but my financial aid disappeared… I had a $14,000 gift aid. it’s all gone. I’m going to have to call financial aid to ask what’s that about. “My UCR” page is still blank which is still scaring me. Hopefully everything goes back to normal. I’m a little worried about housing too. The lady said she’d let the housing staff know about my readmission.

If anyone is planning on personally going to UCR for this:

 1. make sure you have an ID. school id or drivers license. whatever.
 2. BRING PROOF that your school had sent your transcript. make sure your counselor prepares an OFFICIAL transcript for u in a sealed envelope for u to give to the UCR admissions office.
 3. bring tissues. LOL i cudn’t stop crying

hopefully everything falls back into place :frowning:
i just want my UCR page back so i can keep myself updated on the alerts and notifications

good luck!

@Robotkat : can u please let me know when your UCR page turns back to normal??

my high school registrar faxed another transcript with a note verifying that it was mailed to ucr on july 8. he said i would be okay and that they can’t not accept me since it’s postmarked before the due date, but i called ucr admissions myself to see if i was readmitted fersure. they said they would have to look at my application again and figure it all out with my high school. better than a definite no, i suppose…

so they have dropped my financial aid. im gonna have to call tomorrow morning to try to get it back…
everything is just so hectic now because now i have to fix EVERYTHING. college already sucks before even starting. ugh. so stressful.

I just had orientation and Monday morning i spent 3 hours sitting in the undergraduate building trying to straighten my admissions out. Apparently they never got the fax so I had to have my counselor fax it again. The counselor or whoever was helping me made me wait instead of just checking his faxes because he said he got it at 1130 when the paper clearly said 1015 received on it. Anyways, you should probably go in person to fix everything because over the phone/mail/fax is really not going to get anything done. Also even after he told me I was reinstated, when I was signing up for classes the next day MyUcr still told me I was inactive so I had to go get that fixed too. They had to change something called a 110 and a 111 so make sure to ask if they did that so you can get your page back. Do exactly what kroopsicle said pretty much.

Yah my aid and loans have been changed as well. I/m going back today to talk to whoever my financial counselor is.

oh wow D: ucr is about 2 hours away for me… i don’t wanna hassle my parents about it, they’re stressed enough already about this whole thing…

soo. my growl account and ucr page are back now! when i called admissions before, they said they would email me saying when i was reinstated, but nope, no email… i had to call again today, and that’s when they told me that i was in ucr again. they also said that they have to receive an official transcript by august 4th! jeez, i wonder when they were gonna tell me that. -.- my fin. aid is also gone. yippeee.

does anyone know how we find out about housing? i’m afraid that my housing contract will be dropped and i don’t know how to check.

*nevermind, my housing was automatically reinstated.

Yeah I live an hour away from UCR too, but rather drive there myself and get it done quickly and more efficient than doing it through e-mail, fax, or phone. My UCR page is back though! And my classes are all on there. My financial aid is back. I’m not sure about housing but i’m sure it has been reinstated as well because when I asked the counselor when I went to UCR about it, she said the message is gonna be forwarded to housing, bear facts orientation etc etc.
I’m just glad everything is fixed. Or at least i hope everything is fixed. the sad part is that my initial excitement about college has dissipated; i just don’t want anything else to go wrong anymore. SIGHHHHHHHh. deep breath.

but im glad it worked out for you guys! so glad! see y’all in the fall, hopefully! :)
