Cancelling ACT Scores

A few questions that I've been getting mixed answers through the forums and guidance counselors.

ACT has a score choice equivalent, correct? If so I'm assuming the same schools that don't accept score choice for the sat (penn, yale, etc.) will not for the ACT.

Should I cancel scoring if I think there's no more than a 10-15% chance my score improved from last test? Will selective colleges (ivy's + top 20 schools) discard my app if they see I got a 32ish (assuming they don't accept score choice).

Although schools say they do not superscore the ACT, many top schools say they look at your best scores in each section (on different testing dates) but don't recompute your composite score with it. --> What does that mean?

Thanks

u can cancel ur scores after u see what they’re so why would u delete em now

ACT does not have score choice.
When you send your act, you only send it for that ONE test sitting. Some schools that do not let you score choice the SAT may require you to send all ACT scores to the school.

I’m with you - I want to know how to cancel my scores. I’ve heard to take the ACT two times (possibly three) and don’t want to waste this time with a relatively bad score.

Exactly, and since no top 20 school (besides washu) superscores the ACT, there’s no point of submitting this score even if I had a perfect reading section.

MIT superscores.
-If you take the same test (SAT, ACT, or an SAT Subject Test) multiple times, we will consider the highest score achieved in each section.-

So nothing leads me to believe that we can cancel our scores (at will)

Yes, you can cancel your scores. [ACT FAQ : How do I delete a test date record?](http://www.actstudent.org/faq/answers/delete.html)
ACT can permanently delete a score from their records.

EDIT: “It’s basically ACT Inc.'s way of telling colleges to go screw themselves if they don’t respect score choice.”

So follow those instructions and pay money. Thanks!

You should check your high school transcript as well, since I don’t know that if you cancel/delete a score, whether it will still be on your transcript.
