I previously signed up for the AP Government test before on my application, yet now, I don't want to take the test anymore because French is on the same day, and I would rather focus on taking the AP French test more than the Government one. Luckily, I didn't pay for the Government test.

But now since I got accepted into UCI, how do I notify them that I am no longer taking the AP test for Government? Will it affect my admissions status to just tell them that I'm not taking the test, but will complete the class?

I'm just scared and confused, and it would be great if someone helped me out. Thanks so much!

I don’t think they will really care if you don’t take the test, So long as you’re still completing the class. If you’re incredibly nervous about it you could call their admissions office and inform them. But again, I doubt they’ll care all too much.

Most colleges don’t really use AP scores as a part of the decision process because students most often self report them as it is extremely expensive to send the scores. Don’t worry you’re fine.

Try calling their admissions office about what you should do.

But I don’t think they’d rescind you or anything for not taking the test, seeing how you have two tests on one day. But aren’t there like additional days available for AP testing for those who have valid excuses for missing previous tests? Like for being sick, or having two tests on one day?

Well, the Government test is first in the morning, then the French test in the afternoon, but since I am majoring in French, I would want to focus more on the French AP test instead of Gov.
I’m just afraid that they’ll reconsider me just because I’m not taking the Gov AP exam.
