Cancelling Housing Contract for a Co-op (Finding a Replacement)

When canceling your housing contract for Berkeley dorm housing, the website states that Berkeley will need to find a replacement or you will still have to pay the housing fees. So if I was to submit my housing contract cancellation sometime this week, what are the chances that Berkeley will find a replacement by the start of the semester (Fall)?

Well, FPF students like me would be glad to take your housing offer(:

Does anyone have experience with submitting the cancellation form for the Fall semester? I’m quite terrified that I will have to pay an additional $16,000 (defeats the purpose of even living in a co-op).

Also, do I need to submit this form? http://www.housing.berkeley.edu/livingatcal/policies/Appeal%20Instructions.pdf
or just this one? http://www.housing.berkeley.edu/livingatcal/policies/Res_Hall_Cancellation_fillable.pdf
