Hi, I just came back from the testing center and I want to cancel an SAT II Subject Test (I only took one). I already have taken 2, and will send those probably, since I am confident I will get a lower score than the other 2 tests I have already taken.

So, what is the difference between sending a request to cancel the score right now versus waiting a couple weeks to find out my score and send the other 2 SAT II's instead and not report this one?

Will some colleges demand to see all 3 of my scores? Can they ever found out that I actually have 3 SAT II scores rather than 2 test scores I've sent them?

Thanks

They will receive a full report of everything you have done within five years.

Most colleges will consider the highest scores. Nonetheless, universities such as Stanford also pay minimal amount of attention to overall trend on a specific subject (also applies to reasoning test), if you take the test more than once. (Source: Former Stanford Admission Dean)

Alright, I've made up my mind to cancel my score. Thanks for that incredibly fast reply!

Hmmm... don't you want to think it over? I got several days to consider it, and remember most colleges consider the highest mark. UC does not superscore though. And remember... hmm... you paid quite a bit of $ for this test. In other words, check the websites of the colleges your interested in to see their policies.

Nonetheless, for SAT reasoning, UC asks applicants to provide the highest score on a single sitting. (Please refer the UC score calculation on Berkeley's website.) It specifically says that "please make sure that you do not mix your highest scores from each section."

Yes I've consulted many other people, and judging from my past experiences with SAT Subject tests and the incredibly hard time I had on what most people would agree was a relatively easy test with a bad curve (I was definitely not prepared for it at all), I canceled the test.

So, I've sent them a fax with the necessary information notifying College Board of my cancellation yesterday. Do I get some sort of notification that they have received my request? Will some sort of notification appear on my collegeboard.com account? I have yet to receive anything and the page concerning score cancellations on College Board doesn't say anything about this.

You will not receive notification. On your score page, it might still say "Check back on ________ for your scores." It will take College Board 24~48 hours to process your request.

The statements about Stanford in this thread are not current information.

Duh of course it's not current information. It was written by a former Stanford Admission Dean... OF COURSE it's not current.

Will you expect some changes if a university's dean is changed? The answer is obvious.

And also, many people often claim that they talk to admission officers from _____________ university and they all say that they ____________________________. I would like to know their names and phone numbers, so I can call them a year later to confirm those claims when I apply to colleges.

Which admission officers are you talking about?
