Candidate Fitness Assessment

can't see the link....but i'm a girl & i my CFA scores are as follows:

bbal throw: 36 ft
pull ups: 2
shuttle run: 10.0
sit ups: 59
push ups: 99
mile: 8:36

sorely dissapointed on my sit ups & mile....i've already discussed this so i will not bother to reiterate. however, these scores were good enough w/my stats to land me an LOA for usna

Thank you! This proves you don't have to max out everything to be competative.

Not deflating this at all, good scores none the less!

99 pushups??!! Thats way beyond the chart even for a male....

Do you know the sit-up max for girls?

sit-up max for girls is the same as guys -- 95.

I think we discussed the push-ups before, I think they just took it at the girls max.

did you really do 99 push ups? that is insanely high

My daughter 'maxed out' on the situps and pushups for her CFA taken at NASS....she can punch out 200 push ups if need be - but then she has been in Civil Air Patrol for almost 3 years and has been doing the Air Force Physical Training Requirements for that this whole time....I have seen her do these sit ups/push ups and she told me she did 2 pull ups for the CFA at USNA - and that her for MCROTC PFT they wanted a flexed arm hang - which she did for the maxed-out 70 seconds.

All I'm saying is that yes, girls who have been working out really hard through high school especially in upper body strength ( she's been swimming in club and varsity for 6 years and her PE class is run by a former Marine DI who is also currently a coach on the US Olympic Weightlifting team - so this guy knows about workouts)

Girls who do this kind of stuff definitely have- as the girls on her swim team teasingly call each other - 'manly shoulders'....due to the muscles they have developed for these kinds of activities.

Actually, on the CFA they're supposed to cut you off at 50...I don't know why, maybe because it's just pass/fail rather than assigning a grade? Congrats on getting so many, hope they don't reject it or something because there's a "cutoff"...that would truly suck

No they won't penalize you for going over...

The instructions to the tester specifically state NOT to report over the listed max scores...so hopefully whoever administered your test read the directions.
I guess it technically isn't your fault if improperly reported, so they shouldn't penalize you.

At NASS they reported that my son went over max on push ups/pull ups and sit ups. They just let him keep going particularly on the pull ups.

lol, my friend (female) who got an LOA to USMA does 5 pull-ups, I call her BCT. :D Impresses me.

Yeah, at NASS they didn't cap it so that is just another way you may have extra "bonus" points ;)

5 pull ups? Come one 20 now!!!

She's female. Not many can do that.

I'm working myself up to 20, especially after I took a break.

Do you know if you can find out if you passed the physical immediately after you take the test? I was wondering if my PE teacher can calculate the passing score right after I take it...

You can calculate it, all the minimums are available except for the mile run, and you can approximate that one.

where are the minimums available? I never could find out what they were.

i could only find the minumums for the physical readiness test

keep working towards maximums for the CFA get at least 65 push-ups. thats the min for the PRT so they wouldnt want anything less for the CFA. btw i'm a current mid so hit me up w/ questions, but just strive for the absolute best.
