Candidate Fitness Assessment

Are my scores good enough? I have a 34 ACT and 4.1 GPA so i feel good about academics. I did the CFA today and got 68’ bball throw, 8.9 second shuttle, 6 pull ups, 90 sit ups, 70 push ups, and a 6:23 mile.

I will answer your question with another one- “is this your best effort?”

CFA is a pass/fail. Having said that, you want to report YOUR best effort.

Does anyone know roughly how long it takes for USNA to inform you that you need to retake the CFA?

Contact your BGO.

HI there! I just took my CFA today and I’m not sure if I did that well. I got:
Basketball throw: 28 ft
(Couldn’t do any pullups  so my flexed arm hang was for 8 seconds, which was also not very good, I know)
Shuttle run: 10.1 s
Sit ups: 55
Push ups: 26
Mile: 8 min 25 s (also not very good)

I am a girl by the way.
I just wanted to know anyone knows if these would qualify as passing or not?
Thanks for any help!

The best way to gauge whether you’re in shape or not is to see if you can pass the actual USNA PRT as listed here:

http://www.usna.edu/Commandant/Instructions/COMDTMIDNINST%206110.2C_Midshipmen%20Physical%20Readiness%20Test%20(PRT).pdf

That’s what matters when you’re there and will make your life hell if you can’t do it.

does anyone know what officers do for the fitness test? or is this just to get IN the naval academy? you have to pass the test twice a year or something…

Look at this link…http://www.navy-prt.com/

can somebody tell me what’s the process to take this exam?

Candidate Fitness Assessment what do I need to take it?

jcllc1:
Become familiar with the USNA website, as it will have virtually every answer you need. On the home page ([United States Naval Academy | Home Page](http://www.usna.edu)), you’ll see on the left side “Admissions”. I recommend you click on that and get started. Begin with the “Welcome Aboard” tab, and read through it all, then click on “Steps for Admission”, and in there you’ll find what you need for taking the assessment. As a BGO and parent of a grad, I am trying to gently tell you that finding this on your own will be essential if you want to succeed at USNA; resources (other than a quick answer from this forum) are out there. Find them and learn to use them. (I’ll point you in the right direction, but you’re going to have to do the work.) Good luck in the process!

^^^ I agree. These forum websites are primarily intended to provide useful/recent supplemental information mostly to those now applying. They don’t take the place of doing your own research and reading all of the officially available sources including the website for the Naval Academy. Also best to start new threads when you have a specific question instead of tacking onto to something from a couple of years ago.

Some really basic questions about the application process you should be able to easily figure out on your own using the official sources.

I’m sorry i know this was asked earlier but what are the minimums for the CFA?
