As I understand it, the candidate kits for the c/o 2013 will be available in late August this summer(correct me if I am wrong). Should we wait until then to update our files with new accomplishments and 6th semester transcripts or should we send those in right at the end of junior year. Also, when are the CFA scores "due"? obviously we should get them in Asap but I need all of the time I can get for the running portion B/c of a leg issue - I can not begin running until mid-Sept. I will definitely work on all of the non-running portions but I will probably have to shed my mile time a couple of minutes until I am happy with the score. Thank you for all of your help!! This site is really great...you guys have all the answers.

All parts of the candidate kits for 2012 were not techincally due to the end of february, but as you said, its always better to get them in as soon as you can. Furthermore, depending on the region where you live, you might want to do the CFA as soon as possible so you aren't doing the mile run in the snow. Also, I am not sure with your leg issue what you are limited to, but swimming is always a good alternate and compliments running. Theres something called aqua jogging, in which basically you are weighted and running in place. (At running camp anyone who had injuries had to this instead of the trail running) With this excerise you will still get the movement and there is resistance but the water is easier on your joints.

Aqua jogging is great, and much better than swimming if you are wanting to keep your running strength while recovering from an injury (be warned it is really tedious). You need a flotation belt, and "run" lengths of the pool.

No candidate should wait until February to complete their file. Aim to have it complete by the end of November. Strong candidates should send in their 6th semester transcripts at the end of the academic year.
