- Pennsylvania.

Trackattack--have you by any chance heard back from either of our senators yet? I know Bob Casey announces who he nominates next week, but I don't even know when Arlen Specter is supposed to announce his nominees. I hate waiting!! :)

I have not heard from either of the senators yet, just my Congressman. I know, it is really difficult waiting but I am sure you did just fine during your interviews. I heard that Senator Arlen Specter and Senator Robert Casey had about 600 applicants?? Do you know whether that is true? Seems rather large, but then again, Pennsylvania is a competitive state (an you must consider the fact that there are three service academies).

4 service academies that require nominations. don't forget about merchant marine.

600??? My BGO told me there were usually about 250-300 applicants in PA. The 600 must be for all the service academies. Wow, that's a crapload of people.

Wow, you're right! Thanks for the correction!!

usnagirl, you could be right! In fact, you most likely are. And better for both of us! That number seems a heck of a lot better. :-) someone told me that number in the waiting room at one of the interviews and I simply forgot to ask the board if it was fact.

I theorize that Arlen Specter will announce his nominations next week too because Ms. Denis, the lady from Senator Casey's office, told me that the two offices would make sure they don't nominate the same people, so they must agree on these things before one of them makes their announcement. That really leaves 20 Naval Academy nominations for those 300 applicants instead of just 10. Much better!
