Sorry, i'm going to branch off of my other topic i started but i am torn between which of these two schools i should apply ED to: Syracuse or Boston University. Syracuse acceptance rate is 77% ED and i believe BU is lower than it's regular rate which is about 50%. The thing is, my chances at Syracuse is much higher with my stats and i can probably get in and maybe like a 40% chance at BU. Is it true you can only apply to one school ED? What if you get into a school ED but cannot pay because of crappy financial aid? Do they seriously force you to go? I really want to apply to both ED but i am not sure what to do because i really want to go to both schools. Is it worth applying ED to a school if you have a better chance at or at a school more out of reach?

You can only apply to one school Early Decision, do to the binding nature of that agreement. Yes, you are bound to go if admitted, unless you can prove that your financial aid was very insufficient.

you can only apply to one school ED and if you get in you have to go unless you are financially unable to pay tuition. for these reasons, it is advised that you only apply ED if you know exactly where you want to go…Not if you have choices. ED is not a tactic to get in. It shows the college that you are ready to apply and that you know where you want to go. do not use it as a way to way to get in.

Your right. I think i am going to apply to BU because i actually want to go there over Syracuse. Thanks for the help, guys.
